How to Remodel Your Kitchen Without Moving Out

Staying in your house during a kitchen remodel is normal, and with the right setup it is manageable. Before demo we seal the work zone with zippered dust walls and negative air, protect the floors from the front door to the kitchen, and set up a temporary kitchen wherever you want it, usually the dining room: a sink if plumbing allows, plus your microwave, coffee maker and fridge within reach. Water and power stay on overnight, every night, and the crew cleans up before leaving each day. The hardest stretch is roughly ten days when counters and the range are out, so we sequence the work to keep that window as short as possible. You get a dated calendar before we start, so you always know which week is the noisy one.
