Yes, with a vapor-tight ceiling, sloped bench and a properly sized generator matched to the enclosure volume.

How do you avoid mold?

Bonded membranes, no paper-faced board, a correctly sized fan on a timer, and a documented flood test.

Can I keep the existing tub?

If it's cast iron and in good shape, often yes. Reglazing is a fraction of a replacement.

Most failed bathrooms fail behind the tile. We use bonded sheet membranes, pre-sloped pans and flood-test every shower for 24 hours before the first tile goes on.
